From October 15, a new fixed-fare system will apply to taxi journeys between Lisbon Airport and the city centre.
The new zone-based pricing model will replace the use of the taximeter for these journeys, allowing passengers to know the applicable fare in advance.
Under the new system, daytime fares will be set at either €16 or €19, depending on the destination zone. At night, the applicable fare will be €20 or €23.
The measure aims to increase transparency and predictability for passengers while also improving the organisation of taxi services at Lisbon Airport.
The introduction of the new model follows an inspection operation in which violations were identified in 67 of the 100 taxis checked at the airport. The new framework is therefore also intended to help prevent fraudulent practices and strengthen passenger protection.
For passengers arriving in Lisbon, the change provides greater certainty regarding the cost of airport transfers to the city centre and contributes to a more transparent taxi service.
