Golden Visa (ARI) – Biometrics Appointments Now Underway

The Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA) has begun releasing biometrics appointments for the initial stage of Golden Visa (ARI) applications, marking an important step forward in addressing the significant backlog that has accumulated over recent years.

The first appointments are currently being scheduled for January 2026, signalling tangible progress in the processing of pending applications. The EDGE International Lawyers team has already begun receiving notifications of appointments and will be contacting each client individually as soon as their specific date and time are confirmed.

It is important to note that attendance at the scheduled appointment is mandatory. Failure to attend may result in delays or complications in the residency process, potentially affecting the timeline for the issuance or renewal of residence permits.

This development represents a positive advancement in the ongoing efforts to streamline and regularise the Golden Visa process, providing greater predictability and transparency for investors and applicants.
